It was a simply perfect evening in a simply perfect location for the 2013 Jassy Dean Trust Art in the Garden event, a fundraising art auction which kicks off the annual Waiheke Island Garden Safari, raising money to support the island’s sick children and their families.

Rorohara, also known as Pie Melon Bay,  is the picture perfect venue for any event and it is impossible to come down the winding driveway without a sharp intake of breath at the sheer beauty that lies below.

It is a privilege and a pleasure to put up a marquee at Rorohara and with ideal weather conditions and a perfectly manicured lawn, it was an easy and swift ‘up’ , taking two people just a few hours to raise a marquee to comfortably hold tables and chairs, an art display ready for auction, a bar and plenty of mingling room for the 100 or so guests.

The event was a great success with bubbles flowing, the sounds of the Unicats jazz band and of course, unsurpassed views.   Small wonder the enthusiastic audience dug deep for a great cause.

And we consider ourselves luckier than most as we had the pleasure of returning post-event to take our marquees down and leave not a trace of evidence there had been an event. What a backdrop to work to.  Thanks so much, we look forward to supporting the Jassy Dean Trust for future events.
